About the Project

In one UK location they had a wheelset assembly facility. There was an issue for the operators as they had to merge two parallel production lines into one as product moved forward in assembly. The wheelset transfer was carried out by overhead crane which was a scarce resource and costly in manpower.

In conjunction with the client we built an automated transfer system which simply moved a section of rail track from one line to another at the press of a button.

This is a fully automatic system and fully guarded for operators
