About the Project
The grinder is battery powered (48v DC) and is modular in its design. The two grinding heads are detachable as is the battery pack to reduce weight when manual handling. The chassis weighs 78kg, the grinding heads 28 & 30kg (depending upon type) and the battery control unit (BCU) 108kg. The grinding heads are stored in individual cases as is the BCU. The frame in transportation mode has a balanced centre of gravity and is carried by 4 operators. Combined weight of the machine is 214kg (Profiling Head) or 216kg (Lipping Head).
This unit is compliant with the following standards:
- RIS1701 PLT
- BS EN13977:2011
- Machinery Directive 2006 42 EC
- S1173 On Track Plant
- EN 61000-6-4 inc A1:2011
- EN 61000-6-2:2005
This small machine is portable, simple to use and transport and easy to get on and off track. A huge saving on a grinding train system.
